Lighthouse Studios is looking for a 2D pipeline-savvy Technical Director to join our team in Kilkenny. You will be working closely with all department heads and directors to develop and shape the pipeline and technical workflows for a high-quality kid’s series for Amazon (52x11min) as well as help the team to challenge the technical difficulties of a high-quality 2D show.

Job Description:

- Technical Director

- Full-time in-house employee (Salary based)

- Location: Kilkenny, Ireland

- The applicant must be eligible to work within the EEA and willing to relocate to Ireland

Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the overall pipeline development in conjunction with IT

- Accountable for overall pipeline and workflow performance

- Oversee all internal and external project dependencies, risks, and critical paths; ensure contingency plan is in place; recommend solutions and approve plan and timelines

- Working hands-on with the department heads and production personnel to help overcome technical difficulties on the production

Requirements:

- 5+ years of production experience

- 2+ years of experience as a 2D Technical Director

- Thorough knowledge of computer animation

- Ability to manage time according to current priorities in an efficient manner

- Ability to work in a self-directed manner

- Expert knowledge in ToonBoom Harmony

- Expert knowledge in Python

- A good understanding of production-wide workflows and handover processes

- Ability to problem solve independently

- Ability to work fast and efficiently applying industry standard techniques

- Ability to communicate well with directors and supervisors

- Shotgun knowledge an asset

- Fluent in English (a plus)

 Production Manager - (PM-0818)

We are currently seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead our production team in a high-profile kid’s series (52x11min).

 

Job Description:

- Production Manager

- Full-time in-house employee (Salary based)

- Location: Kilkenny, Ireland

- Start Date: As soon as possible

- The applicant must be eligible to work within the EEA and willing to relocate to Ireland

This position is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and motivated person to excel in the animation production industry. The Production Manager is responsible for all aspects of the in-house production team including staff hiring and scheduling, setting production quotas, and managing the production schedule to ensure the production is delivered to our partners on time and on budget.

 

Position Responsibilities:

·         Consulting on the creation of the master production schedule and budget

·         Accountable for all aspects of the assigned production’s methodology, its’ performance and ongoing refinement to ensure the production is on schedule.

·         Creating & distributing weekly production reports to studio management and partners

·         Supervise and delegate responsibilities to the assigned production’s team of Supervisors, Coordinators and Assistants

·         Tracking each productions schedule and time management

·         Manage artists quotas/deadlines

·         Manage approvals and deliveries to clients and broadcasters

·         Supervising and motivating the production team

 

Qualification Requirements:

·         Minimum of 3-5 years of television or feature film animation production experience as a Production Manager

·         Working knowledge of the 2D Animation pipeline

·         Working knowledge of Photoshop and other graphics applications would be helpful

·         Proficient in Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office applications

·         Must have dynamic troubleshooting skills and the ability to lead a team and work calmly under pressure to resolve production and staff related issues

·         Must be able to work effectively, and with diplomacy and sensitivity, with all members of the production team, clients and other contributors.

·         Must have strong leadership skills, and an ability to build team morale under challenging circumstances

·         Excellent organisation skills that pays precise attention to detail

·         Excellent verbal/written communication skills – strong client facing ability

·         Working knowledge of Toon Boom Harmony is a strong asset

·         Shotgun production tracking knowledge is an asset

·         Post Production experience is an asset

·         Must be a team player

Job Description:

-        2D ToonBoom Animator

-        Full-time in house employee (Salary based)

-        Location: Kilkenny, Ireland

-        Start Date: as soon as possible

-        The applicant must be eligible to work within the EEA and willing to relocate to Ireland if required.

Requirements:

-        At least 2+ years of experience in ToonBoom 2D cut out animation

-        An eye for detail and a good understanding regarding "principles of animation"

-        A strong sense of animation timing, posing, weight and storytelling

-        Ready to work in a fast pace series environment

-        Good sense and understanding of planning, posing and animating high quality animation

-        Excellent knowledge of ToonBoom Harmony 

-        Excellent knowledge of rig based animation

- Scene Prep Artist

Requirements:

- At least 2+ years of experience as a Scene Prep Artist or a similar role

- Expert knowledge in Toonboom Harmony is essential

  CHARACTER & PROPS BUILD ARTIST – (CBA-0918)

Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Character & Props Build Artist to join our team for an exciting new production with worldwide exposure. Utilizing Toon Boom Harmony, these talented individuals will create and rig characters and props, ensuring all art assets are flawless from all rotation views and rigged ready for animation.

Responsibilities:

  • Rig appealing production friendly characters and props for a television series based on 2D designs

  • Identify problems in 2D Designs and provide well thought out solutions

  • Make sure work is completed and delivered per schedule

  • Keep current “on modeling” techniques and technology and propose new tools/methodologies

 

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years experience working as a 2D Character rigger is a plus

  • Working knowledge of ToonBoom Harmony is required

  • Experience in how animators use ToonBoom Harmony is a must

  • The ideal candidate would have strong drawing skills

  • Ability to communicate creatively and technically to your teammates
